Overview

Saab, a leading defence and security company, invites you to join as an RF Test Technician in Fareham. In this role, you will support radar and sensor activities, working on the G1X radar – Saab’s newest, software defined radar system in a production environment.

The Role

Working in the Production department on the Test & Inspection team, you will be responsible for inspecting produced units, testing functionality of radar systems and sub-assemblies, troubleshooting technical issues and ensuring adherence to company standards. You may also have opportunities to travel to Sweden for training and knowledge transfer.

Key Responsibilities

• Support Inspection & Test Team Leader to achieve production goals.
• Perform high-standard soldering and electrical loom inspections.
• Test functionality of units and sub-assemblies including the G1X radar.
• Interpret electrical drawings and document process results.
• Maintain effective IT system use and ethical conduct.
• Collaborate with Swedish colleagues via Teams, email or in person.

Required Skills

• Familiarity with standard test and measurement equipment.
• Experience in using multimeters and oscilloscopes.
• Solid understanding of electrical and electronic components.
• 3-5 years RF experience with proven troubleshooting ability.
• Good technical communication and computer literacy.

Desired Skills

• Inspection to IPC class 3 standard.
• Background in testing and measurement.
• Documenting procedures and creative problem solving.
