About The Role We are seeking a Research Manager to lead and expand Runway’s Applied ML Research team, focusing on creating cutting-edge machine learning tools for AI-based content creation. The ideal candidate possesses a strong research background in computer vision and a passion for managing and empowering researchers to achieve state-of-the-art results. This cross-functional role demands excellent communication and collaboration skills. You will work with the engineering organization to transition research into production and collaborate with the Product team to define and develop research projects that offer significant user value. What you’ll need

• 5+ years of industry experience as a research scientist in computer vision.
• 1+ year of experience managing teams.
• High emotional intelligence, with proven experience in mentoring and supporting career growth.
• Strong understanding of communicating goals, driving project execution, and inspiring teams.
• Experience translating product and business objectives into technical strategies.
• Deep interest in productionizing state-of-the-art ML research.
