This team shapes Developer workflows and the overall software development experience.

About the role

As a Staff Software Engineer, you will drive and deliver initiatives to boost Developer productivity at Rubrik. You will lead complex, ambiguous, and novel technical challenges related to Developer Experience by leveraging AI advancements.

What you'll do

  • Lead multi-quarter roadmap initiatives for a scalable, extensible AI agents platform.
  • Contribute to engineering efforts from planning to execution, solving complex problems in Developer productivity apps and workflows.
  • Conduct detailed design and code reviews with team members.
  • Collaborate on design and architectural decisions across the broader engineering team.
  • Showcase best practices and help improve engineering productivity.
  • Research and evaluate external tools, industry trends, and emerging technologies.
  • Mentor engineers within the team.

Experience you'll need

  • BS or MS in Computer Science or related field with 8+ years of relevant work experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in a technical leadership role.
  • Expertise in system design, distributed systems architecture, and testing software at scale.
  • Proven application of AI/ML, particularly LLMs and AI agents, to solve engineering challenges.
  • Proficiency in Python, Scala, or Go.
  • Experience building developer tools and improving developer velocity.
  • Excellent communication skills to influence stakeholders from senior engineers to VPs.

Compensation & Benefits

The base salary ranges from $210,500 to $315,800 USD, with eligibility for bonus, equity, and other benefits based on key factors including location, experience, and expertise.
