Role Overview
RPC is actively seeking a proactive eDiscovery Analyst to join its dedicated eDiscovery team, which is an integral part of the firm's Knowledge and Legal Technology function. This presents a dynamic opportunity to contribute across a diverse range of eDiscovery initiatives. The established team delivers high-quality eDiscovery solutions to RPC's legal teams and end clients, supporting a wide spectrum of discovery work including cyber incident response, Data Subject Access Requests (DSAR), investigations, and litigious exercises.
The primary responsibility of the eDiscovery Analyst will be to support internal eDiscovery exercises, encompassing Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs), file requests, and other internal eDiscovery tasks.
You will have ample opportunity to develop expertise in this fast-growing and ever-changing field. RPC is committed to providing ongoing training to team members, delivered by internal experts and external programs, ensuring the successful candidate remains at the forefront of technological and legal developments.
The eDiscovery team operates across RPC's Bristol and London offices. Candidates are welcome to be fully remote or based within a commutable distance to either the Bristol or London offices. This role reports directly to the eDiscovery Manager, who is based in Bristol.
Key Responsibilities
- Project manage internal DSAR exercises from initiation to completion, acting as a subject matter expert to advise on optimal workflows.
- Effectively manage competing deadlines, working on multiple projects and tasks across various platforms and providers simultaneously.
- Provide internal clients with efficient review strategies, workflow design, and consultation on the most appropriate technology-enabled solutions, including leveraging AI.
- Undertake technical tasks such as data analytics, data culling, de-duplication, quality control, and reporting, with increasing responsibility as your confidence and expertise grow.
- Proactively liaise with internal clients to scope, plan, and deliver eDiscovery workstreams, ensuring clear communication of requirements, progress, and outcomes.
- Participate in continuous training and knowledge sharing to stay ahead of eDiscovery and legal technology developments.
- Collaborate effectively as a team player, contributing to an environment of constant improvement by enthusiastically sharing knowledge, assisting others, and taking responsibility for aspects of team development such as process improvement, training, and research.
- Deliver high-quality and timely output to internal clients.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Practical understanding of the EDRM (Electronic Discovery Reference Model) and eDiscovery best practice (desirable but not essential).
- Previous experience with DSAR exercises and eDiscovery technology.
- A strong aptitude for utilizing and adapting technology to optimize efficiency.
- Experience using document review platforms and databases.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Highly effective communication skills, both written and oral.
- Well-organised, efficient, hardworking, and self-motivated.
