About the role
Solutions Engineer - Founding Role
Rowspace is seeking founding Solutions Engineers who excel at the intersection of technical expertise and commercial impact. You will drive revenue by connecting our platform to customers' critical investment workflows, proving its value with their actual data and processes. This role involves transforming messy data from financial services firms into actionable insights and building trust with skeptical investors.
As a builder, you will demo, build, and iterate alongside founders and engineers, enjoying significant agency and autonomy over the entire technical customer lifecycle, from initial technical wins to adoption and expansion.
What You'll Do
- Lead technical discovery and demos, mapping customer workflows and pain points to the Rowspace platform to showcase its value.
- Own the Proof of Concept (POC) and technical win, building on prospect data to demonstrate business impact during the evaluation phase.
- Partner with Account Executives (AEs) on deal strategy, understanding prospect investment behaviors and positioning Rowspace effectively.
- Drive customer adoption and expansion by staying engaged post-sale, helping customers reimagine workflows and identifying opportunities for deeper usage.
- Act as the voice of the customer, providing field feedback to engineering and product teams to shape the product roadmap.
- Develop reusable technical assets and playbooks to streamline future sales cycles and build team knowledge.
What You Have
- 2-5+ years in a technical customer-facing role (e.g., sales/solutions engineer, solutions architect, implementation consultant) or financial engineering/data science with customer-facing experience.
- Technical proficiency with code, APIs, and diverse data environments (PDFs, Excel, CapIQ feeds), comfortable using tools like Claude Code and Cursor.
- Familiarity with AI/ML concepts including RAG, embeddings, LLMs, and unstructured data ingestion.
- Strong sales instincts, with the ability to advance deals, handle objections, navigate organizational dynamics, and win against the status quo.
- High agency and a builder's mindset, with a willingness to wear multiple hats and independently solve problems.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with CIOs on technical deep-dives and portfolio managers on outcomes.
- Familiarity with financial services, including investor data usage, due diligence, and data accuracy importance, is a plus.
