The Team
The Risk Prevention team is a vital part of Route’s Customer Experience organization, working cross-functionally with Legal, Claims, Product, Security, and Customer Success to maintain a secure platform and a smooth post-purchase experience.
The Opportunity
As a Senior Risk Analyst, you will help protect Route and its merchant partners from financial risk by setting the vision for risk strategy, refining fraud prevention tactics, mentoring team members, and shaping scalable processes to stay ahead of emerging threats.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and lead Route’s fraud and claims risk mitigation strategy.
- Mentor Risk Analysts to align team goals and foster individual growth.
- Identify fraudulent behaviors through data analysis and claim investigations.
- Assess merchant accounts for risk-indicating trends.
- Partner with third-party fraud prevention vendors and monitor their performance.
- Lead response efforts for abnormal fraud activity with root cause analysis.
- Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, Claims, and Product teams for regulatory alignment and operational efficiency.
- Support frontline teams with fraud-related inquiries and escalations.
- Provide weekday coverage during the holidays.
What We’re Looking For
- 4+ years in fraud prevention or risk operations (ecommerce, fintech, or insurance preferred).
- Strong data analysis skills with tools such as SQL and Looker.
- Leadership experience with the ability to mentor team members.
- Proactive, curious mindset with early risk identification skills.
- Clear communicator who can translate data into actionable insights.
- Familiarity with fraud detection tools and third-party risk platforms.
- Adept at working in fast-paced, ever-changing startup environments.
