Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center is seeking a dedicated Senior Licensed Practical Nurse (Full Time/First Shift) to join their Ambulatory Services team, focusing on Head & Neck/Plastic & Reconstructive care.

Job Summary

The Senior Licensed Practical Nurse performs all duties of an LPN, working under the supervision of a Provider, Registered Nurse (RN), or other licensed independent provider. Key responsibilities include assisting in the development, evaluation, and modification of care/treatment plans based on mutual goals with patients and caregivers. This role also involves facilitating patient access to interdisciplinary care providers and services, serving as a central point of contact, advocate, and informational resource within the oncology setting. The nurse will ensure effective tracking of test results, medication management, and adherence to follow-up appointments, while also providing patient-centered education and educating nursing and ancillary staff. Additionally, the Senior LPN will serve as the designated quality lead for the nursing unit.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in developing, evaluating, and modifying patient care/treatment plans.
• Facilitate patient access to interdisciplinary care and services.
• Serve as a patient advocate and informational resource.
• Manage tracking of test results, medication, and appointments.
• Provide patient and staff education.
• Act as the designated quality lead for the nursing unit.

Qualifications

• Required Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited practical nursing school’s LPN program with four (4) years of nursing experience, including two (2) years in an ambulatory or acute care setting.
• License and Certification Requirement: Must possess a License to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of New York and Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association.
