Nurse I at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center

As a Nurse I at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, you will be instrumental in providing and supervising nursing interventions for individuals facing cancer and related health issues. This role involves diagnosing and treating human responses to actual or potential health problems through dedicated patient care, health teaching, and counseling. You will provide interventions that support or restore life and well-being, while also executing medical regimens prescribed by licensed healthcare providers.

A key aspect of this position is the supervision of Licensed Practical Nurses, Hospital Clinical Assistants, and clinical secretaries, ensuring high standards in patient care delivery. Roswell Park is committed to your professional growth; you will enhance your development by participating in educational programs, staying current with literature, attending in-service meetings, and engaging in workshops.

The starting hourly rate for this role is $43.84, which includes a geographical differential, alongside a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

License Requirement

  • License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York.

Education and Experience

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing; or
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and prior experience working in a nursing home, psychiatric facility, or other sub-acute facility; or
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time medical-surgical experience in an acute care setting.

Note: Incumbents must serve a one (1) year full-time probationary period as a Nurse I to be eligible for promotion to a Nurse II. Upon successful completion of orientation and the ability to function independently at a satisfactory level for three (3) months (full-time), the incumbent would be eligible for promotion to a Nurse II, then serving a one (1) year full-time probationary period as a Nurse II.
