Licensed Practical Nurse (Second Shift)
Job Type: Regular Company: Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center Department: Nursing - 7 North Time Type: Full time Weekly Hours: 40 Fte: 1 Shift: Second Shift
Summary
Performs patient care, health teaching, and health counseling in an oncology setting, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or other licensed independent provider. Assists in individualizing patient care to help patients adapt to their disease process and achieve the highest level of wellness. Performs routine nursing care procedures, screens patients, performs venipuncture, and monitors plateletpheresis and whole blood donor procedures. Maintains donor and product safety, ensuring compliance with State and Federal procedure regulations. Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
- License or permit to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of New York.
- Graduation from an accredited practical nursing school’s LPN program.
Note: Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college, or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
