Who We Are Looking For
As part of the media monitoring team, you will be responsible for real time monitoring of news and social media, producing coverage summaries and reports, and mining for actionable insights about Rogers, its brands and its competitors.
You are an organized, methodical problem solver who is able to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. You have a passion for monitoring and reporting with strong writing skills and a good understanding of current news pertaining to our sector. You are calm under pressure and believe in always delivering an excellent customer experience.
This role is based in Toronto and requires flexibility in scheduling, including a combination of weekday evenings (12 p.m. to 8 p.m.) and weekends (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.).
What You'll Do
- Monitor and flag content from digital media, broadcast, and social media to articles, posts, or anything relevant you find online, in real-time, for relevant stakeholders.
- Create complex search queries in various tools to identify content and topics of interest.
- Generate reports that include media coverage and social media mentions of Rogers initiatives, as well as news relevant to our competitors and the industry.
- Structure data by tagging content in our media analysis tool for enhanced reporting and insights.
- Conduct research and reporting on ad hoc topics and issues.
- Occasionally post articles or updates to About.Rogers.com.
What You Bring
- Exceptional level of attention to detail.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Knowledge of Rogers business units, sports ownership and media properties, as well as our telecommunications and media competitors.
- Self-starter capable of working both independently and as a team in a deadline-driven environment.
- Collaborative approach to supporting the dynamic operations of the media monitoring team.
- Ability to take initiative, learn new skills and tools, and support the broader communications team.
- Experience with media monitoring, analytics platforms and social media listening tools is an asset (for example, Meltwater/Cision, Feedly/NewsBlur, TVEyes/Critical Mention, Emplifi/Hootsuite, Adobe Analytics, WordPress).
- Experience with creating and disseminating reports to senior leadership is an asset.
- Working knowledge of French is an asset.
