Nurse Practitioner - Cardiothoracic ICU

The Nurse Practitioner will coordinate and manage the care of CT surgery patients across the continuum of care. This individual will work in collaboration with the CT surgery providers to ensure comprehensive acute and long-term care for the patients managed by the service.

Responsibilities

• Patient Satisfaction: Interact frequently with patients, family members, support services, regulatory agencies, and payor agencies. Communication requires empathy, understanding, problem-solving, education, and counseling.
• Medication & Orders: Prescribe medication, write orders, perform procedures, and respond to emergency condition changes in critically ill patients.
• Documentation: Obtain comprehensive patient histories, perform physical exams, review patient records, and develop medical status, diagnosis, and clinical treatment plans.

Education & Certifications

• Education: MS in Nursing
• Licenses/Certifications: NP - Nurse Practitioner Certification (NYSED), RN - Registered Nurse (NYSED)

Physical Requirements

Medium Work: Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally. Requires frequent walking, standing, or squatting. Accommodations will be considered for reported physical requirements.

Pay Range

$100,000.00 - $150,000.00 annually
