The Position: Environmental Regulatory Compliance Manager
Are you a Scientist with a passion for regulatory strategy or a Regulatory Expert focused on product stewardship? As an Environmental Regulatory Compliance Manager, you will lead the implementation of evolving product environmental and sustainability regulations (such as REACH, Biocides, PFAS, and more). Your mission is to ensure Roche Diagnostics products are globally compliant and managed with excellence. You will define compliance for our portfolio, future-proof our products, and ensure readiness for audits and regulatory authorities.
Main Responsibilities
- Detailed Regulatory Assessment: Oversee technical evaluation of new regulations, provide clear and auditable interpretations, identify risks, and design mitigation strategies.
- Strategic Compliance Roadmap: Identify upcoming regulatory trends and define long-term strategies to protect the Roche portfolio.
- Program Management & Prioritization: Manage multiple complex projects, ensuring efficient implementation of regulations across the organization.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the internal expert for Senior Leaders and cross-functional teams, translating complex legal texts into actionable business insights.
- Standardization & Frameworks: Lead the harmonization of assessment processes, creating a repeatable and adaptable framework for the Diagnostics division.
- KPIs & Reporting: Maintain a clear overview of compliance status per regulation, reporting progress and milestones for full transparency.
Who You Are
We are looking for an analytical thinker who can bridge technical product data and legal requirements. The ideal candidate possesses:
- A solid background in Product Stewardship or Product Environmental Regulations.
- An analytical mindset to quickly evaluate business impact by applying legal texts to technical data, with experience implementing complex environmental requirements.
- Effective communication skills to explain the rationale behind regulations to diverse audiences.
- Collaborative leadership abilities, excelling in matrixed organizations, building high-performing teams, and making data-driven decisions.
- Fluent English proficiency. Knowledge of SAP EHS/EHS-M and Project Management (Waterfall, Agile) are highly valued. Familiarity with risk assessment and portfolio knowledge is advantageous.
