The Opportunity
This role supports our Tissue Diagnostics franchise and is responsible for meeting and exceeding sales objectives in targeted accounts across specified territories. You will typically manage medium to large accounts or have a medium to large quota/territory. Your responsibilities will include developing customer prospects and building lasting relationships with decision-makers. You will contact and visit existing and potential customers, and work to build and maintain a network of colleagues, partners, and customers for information sharing and lead generation. Additionally, this position requires you to deliver value quantification presentations to potential customers and demonstrate in-depth knowledge of our product line, as well as other products or services.
As a seasoned and experienced professional, you will possess a full understanding of your area of specialization and resolve a wide range of issues creatively. This is a fully qualified, career-oriented position where you will have complete knowledge of company products and services. You will work on problems of diverse scope, where data analysis requires evaluating identifiable factors, and demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. You will network with senior internal and external personnel in your area of expertise. Your responsibilities will include selling the company's products or services, developing new accounts, and/or expanding existing accounts. You will generally receive little instruction on day-to-day work and general instructions on new assignments.
This is a field-based role with a territory covering North and Central Illinois (Chicago down to Springfield) and the state of Iowa. Relocation benefits are not provided. You must reside within 50 miles of the territory border. We prefer candidates residing in the greater Chicago area.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
- Contact new and existing customers to meet and exceed sales objectives in targeted accounts.
- Develop new business, grow existing business, maintain customer relationships, and troubleshoot customer problems.
- Identify and develop strategic account plans, developing and delivering differentiating messages and quantifiable economic value for products and services.
- Sell the primary differentiation of Roche products, overcome and manage objections, and negotiate to obtain sales.
- Generate demand and maximize product awareness by educating customers and providing information.
- Implement strategic initiatives and plans to facilitate the sales process and productivity.
- Collaborate with colleagues to prepare proposals for assigned accounts, presenting contract proposals to customers to maximize overall business and profitability, which may require negotiation.
- Conduct and organize necessary territory planning and routing for efficiency.
- Perform business analysis and planning.
- Communicate competitive market information internally.
- Network and interface with internal colleagues to share information and best practices.
- Remain actively involved in industry/customer organizations that impact business.
- Maintain and continuously improve the quality system and achieve quality objectives through daily actions.
Who you are:
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Possess 3 years of relevant sales or equivalent experience. Participation in an approved accelerated development, fellowship, or rotational program may be considered in lieu of experience.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Illinois is $86,700 - $160,900. Actual pay will be determined by experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position is eligible to earn incentive compensation calculated and paid according to the applicable Incentive Compensation Plan.
