Senior .NET Backend Developer (C# / Azure / PostgreSQL)

Location: Remote (U.S.)

Duration: 6+ Month Contract (Potential Extension)

Hours: Full-Time (40 hrs/week)

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior .NET Backend Developer to join a growing engineering team focused on building scalable, cloud-native applications. This role is heavily backend focused and requires deep expertise in C#/.NET, PostgreSQL, Azure Functions, Azure Service Bus, and Entity Framework.

The ideal candidate has designed and optimized high-performance APIs, worked extensively with relational database performance tuning, and understands how to build resilient event-driven applications in Azure.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using C# and .NET
• Build and support RESTful APIs consumed by web and mobile applications
• Develop serverless solutions using Azure Functions
• Design and implement asynchronous messaging solutions using Azure Service Bus
• Create efficient data access layers utilizing Entity Framework Core
• Optimize PostgreSQL database performance through indexing, query tuning, execution plan analysis, and schema design
• Troubleshoot production performance bottlenecks across application and database layers
• Collaborate with architects, DevOps engineers, and frontend developers on scalable cloud solutions
• Participate in code reviews and enforce backend development best practices
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional .NET development experience
• Strong expertise with C#
• Experience building enterprise backend applications with ASP.NET Core
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL
• Experience developing Azure Functions
• Hands-on experience with Azure Service Bus
• Strong understanding of Entity Framework Core
• Experience designing REST APIs
• Solid understanding of asynchronous programming
• Experience working in Azure cloud environments
• Familiarity with Git and Agile development methodologies

Preferred Qualifications

• Docker or Kubernetes experience
• Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines
• Microservices architecture
• MediatR, CQRS, or Clean Architecture
• Application Insights or distributed logging/monitoring tools
• Experience with Redis or distributed caching

The pay range for this position is 60 to 65hr W2. Benefits available to contract/temporary professionals include medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance.
