Job Summary

The Licensed Offshore Safety Medic at RMI Global Solutions (RMI) serves a dual role as a field Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) advisor and a medic. This position is critical in supporting clients with QHSE management on projects, providing essential urgent and emergency medical care, and fostering a strong safety culture among crews through ongoing training, vigilant monitoring, and detailed reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver urgent and emergency medical care, meticulously maintaining accurate electronic health records.
  • Ensure the operational readiness of medical facilities, equipment, and supplies; conduct routine maintenance checks.
  • Efficiently manage medical emergencies, stabilize patients, and coordinate timely evacuations in strict adherence to MERP and RHCP guidelines.
  • Conduct thorough health screenings, drug and alcohol testing, and comprehensive workforce medical inductions.
  • Champion health and hygiene programs and lead first-aid training and emergency drills for offshore personnel.
  • Act as the primary on-site contact for client EHS and QHSE matters; provide expert advice on compliance and industry standards.
  • Monitor QHSE performance diligently, support incident investigations, and assist with safety training and program implementation.
  • Maintain all professional certifications and ensure full compliance with client and statutory requirements.
  • Perform other duties as required to support offshore operations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a licensed paramedic, nurse, advanced practitioner, or physician.
  • Proven experience in remote healthcare settings; experience in oil & gas or industrial operations is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic health record systems.
  • Fluent in English and capable of passing Fit-to-Work assessments.

Certifications

  • Valid medical license and advanced life support certifications (ALS, ACLS, BLS, PHTLS).
  • At least one recognized HSE certification (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, etc.).
  • Offshore safety training (BOSIET, HUET) and any other project-specific certifications as required.
