Responsibilities

Team Leadership and Management:

• Build, mentor and coach a team of data engineers.
• Set clear goals and provide regular feedback.
• Allocate resources and manage project priorities with product owners.
• Manage relationships with Serbian and US based leadership.

Data Infrastructure Development and Maintenance:

• Oversee design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines and assets in the Enterprise data lake.
• Support the data platform ensuring quality, reliability, security and performance.
• Evaluate and implement new technologies, including emerging AI capabilities.
• Collaborate with engineering and business teams to integrate data systems.

Collaboration and Communication:

• Partner with product owners, stakeholders and system owners to understand data needs.
• Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Document infrastructure and processes while setting best practice guidelines.

Other Areas of Focus:

• Create architectural standards for a modern, scalable data stack.
• Implement both streaming and batch processing solutions.
• Continuously research the latest data technologies to improve efficiency.

Qualifications

• At least 6 years in similar positions.
• Experience in leading and managing globally distributed teams.
• Expertise in modern data stacks like Databricks, DBT and robust data pipelines.
• Knowledge of automation, CI/CD, ML models and AI capabilities in data decision making.
