Responsibilities of an Engineering Manager
- Build, test and release complex mission critical full-stack applications for internally and externally facing software, while being a tech lead on those projects
- Design and implement frontend code and algorithms using ReactJS Typescript as well as backend code using AWS Services, Python, PostgresSQL databases
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including QA testing, technical product management and UI/UX design teams to define application features
- Use automation as an opportunity to reduce roadblocks and achieve deliverables
- Ensure good software architecture practices are followed across the team; actively contribute to code and design reviews; perform unit testing to deliver high quality software
Qualifications
- 8+ years of professional experience in full-stack software engineering, including technical leadership on complex projects
- Experience leading design reviews, mentoring engineers, and setting technical direction
- Deep expertise in frontend technologies: ReactJS, HTML, CSS, MaterialUI, React Router, React Hooks, GraphQL, REST
- Expert-level backend development experience with Python, RESTful APIs, and strong proficiency with AWS services (ECS, EKS, Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, etc.)
- Proven experience driving and implementing DevOps practices, setting up CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native architectures
- BA in Engineering (Computer Science / Data Engineering / Data Science or equivalent practical experience / experience
