About the Role - Broadcast Engineer - Esports Event Technology
As a Broadcast Engineer II (P3) at Riot Games, you will design, deploy, and maintain the technical infrastructure powering global esports broadcasts for titles including League of Legends, VALORANT, and other Riot IPs.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical implementations for studio and remote shows.
- Measure and manipulate broadcast signals using specialized instruments.
- Design and deploy infrastructure architecture.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair broadcast hardware and systems.
- Evaluate new technology and industry trends.
- Work varied schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of broadcast engineering experience or equivalent combination with an advanced degree.
- Deep knowledge of core broadcast systems including switchers, audio consoles, and more.
- Proficiency with video/audio encoding, streaming protocols (H.264, NDI, SRT, RTP).
- Hands-on experience with studio and remote broadcast systems maintenance.
- Strong understanding of network infrastructure and IP video technologies (SMPTE ST 2110).
- Ability to lead technical discussions and implement sustainable workflows.
- Experience with engineering best practices including source control and automation.
