About the Role: Associate QA Engineer, Game Analysis

As an Associate QA Engineer on the Game Analysis Team at Riot Games, you will be a vital analytical champion for quality, focusing on extensive testing to gain a holistic understanding of Riot's projects, particularly VALORANT. You will create test plans and evaluate both the functional and subjective caliber of projects for a Riotous development team. The role involves direct collaboration with developers to participate in, plan, and evaluate playtests. Your peers are passionate gamers who enjoy theorycrafting, discussing, and solving multiplayer games. This position reports to a Quality Manager.

Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based feedback to determine if upcoming changes achieve their specific goals.
• Manage risk assessments for unreleased content utilizing playtest data.
• Support the definition of objectives and conclusions drawn from playtests.
• Manage test plans for future tests and defects discovered during playtests.
• Execute required tasks following detailed direction.

Required Qualifications

• Achieved Radiant rank in VALORANT within the past two years.
• Demonstrated experience in effective VALORANT team communication during ranked play.
• Proven experience in competitive VALORANT strategy and team setups.
• Ability to fluently articulate VALORANT gameplay concepts such as map awareness, crosshair placement, and eco management.
• Possess a high-level understanding of micro and macro decisions crucial for optimizing VALORANT gameplay.

Desired Qualifications

• Prior experience working within a professional team setting.
• Competitive experience with additional First-Person Shooter (FPS) games.
• Adept at assessing teammate skill levels and offering appropriate guidance.
• Ability to gauge player sentiment and identify the root causes of player enjoyment and frustration.
• 1+ years of Software Quality Assurance experience.
