Rental Sales Representative

The Rental Sales Representative is responsible for providing excellent customer service and maintaining an active client base within a designated territory, focusing on increasing rental revenue for Caterpillar and Allied equipment.

What You'll Do

• Compile and generate sales leads from various sources.
• Travel within assigned territory to engage with regular and prospective customers.
• Quote prices, set credit terms, and prepare sales contracts.
• Coordinate with store rental personnel regarding equipment availability and deliverables.
• Prepare business transaction reports and maintain expense accounts.
• Participate in customer training and customer relationship building.
• Enter new and current customer sales data into a computer database.
• Investigate and resolve customer delivery issues.
• Attend trade shows and promote rental machine sales initiatives.
• Monitor rental sales activity and report lost sales.
• Support team selling across various sales operations.

What You'll Need

• Ability to gather, analyze, and problem-solve information.
• Strong group communication and presentation skills.
• Capacity to handle challenging customer situations and achieve ambitious goals.
• Relevant Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) and 1-5 years Caterpillar or competitor experience.
• Proficiency with document interpretation, calculations, and clear communication.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.

Important Information

This is an outside sales role with occasional overnight stays (1-5 nights/month). The job requires physical stamina including ability to stand, walk, use hands, and lift up to 25 lbs occasionally. Environmental conditions include exposure to wet/humid conditions, mechanical parts, and variable weather thereby subjecting the employee to moderate noise conditions.
