Overview

RICK Engineering Company is seeking a Civil Project Engineer Manager in San Diego, CA. This role offers you an opportunity to work with an expert multi-disciplinary team on landmark projects that impact communities and shape the future.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate holds a BSCE degree and is a CA Registered Professional Civil Engineer (or can obtain registration within 6 months). You should have 5-12 years of relevant experience, or 10-15 years if considered equivalent. A minimum of three years in a managerial role supervising technical staff is required along with demonstrated leadership, project management, and strong decision-making abilities.

Managerial Experience

  • Manage construction documents and contracts
  • Oversee construction support and field coordination
  • Direct project schedules and budgets
  • Prepare contracts, fee proposals, and scopes of work
  • Engage with clients and public-agency personnel
  • Manage design and support staff

Technical Experience

  • Perform conceptual and preliminary engineering design studies
  • Prepare and process regulatory and public improvement plans
  • Conduct constructability reviews
  • Offer construction support services
  • Utilize AutoCAD/Civil 3D and CAD for design exhibits

Additional Skills

  • Strong understanding of jurisdictional codes and procedures in CA
  • Ability to negotiate and maintain positive relationships
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Experienced in business management, strategic planning, and resource allocation
  • Exhibits leadership with the ability to accept constructive feedback
