About the role
Workday HRMS Consultant
RICEFW Technologies Inc. is seeking a skilled Workday HRMS Lead to enhance the State of Maine’s Workday Human Resource Management System (HRMS). This role is crucial for leading the design, configuration, optimization, and support of Workday, ensuring it aligns with statewide HR business requirements, policies, collective bargaining agreements, and operational priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical and functional lead for Workday HRMS modules including Core HCM, Compensation, Benefits, Absence, Time Tracking, Payroll, and Talent.
- Collaborate with HR Product Owners, agency leadership, and MaineIT stakeholders to define and document detailed requirements for each backlog item.
- Provide regular status updates to the Scrum Master on progress, risks, and blockers.
- Work closely with configuration analysts to ensure business requirements are accurately translated into Workday configurations.
- Act as a key point of contact for the PRISM team and business partners, providing direction and resolving issues.
- Define User Acceptance Testing (UAT) strategy, scenarios, and success criteria with business partners.
- Coordinate the development of training materials, job aids, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Translate business requirements into well-defined user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
- Maintain consistent updates for backlog items regarding status, progress, and changes.
- Support release planning, including coordination with Workday's bi-annual releases and production deployments.
- Promote Workday best practices and delivered functionality to maximize system value and minimize customization.
