Job Description

About RIB Software

The RIB Group is the world's leading provider of software solutions for managing project and corporate processes in the construction and real estate industry. With over 60 years of industry experience, we are empowered to successfully achieve our goal of advancing the construction industry to be the most sustainable and digitized industry of the 21st century: "Building Better Together".

Our vision to make construction projects more efficient and transparent through digital working methods has become a reality for our customers in recent years – but we are not yet satisfied: we want to secure the top position for the construction industry in the future! This is made possible by our 2,500 employees worldwide, including over 500 employees in the DACH region. As an independent company of Schneider Electric, we offer national and international career opportunities and meaningful tasks in commercial and technical areas. Be a part of it #ONERIB

The Role: Lead Product Designer

As a Lead Product Designer for the Hub team, you will take ownership of UX strategy and design execution for one of RIB’s most critical product areas. This role combines hands-on design expertise with leadership responsibilities such as mentoring, design ops, and driving alignment across teams. You will collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver intuitive, scalable, and user-centered solutions that shape the future of construction technology. You will also play a key role in UX research initiatives, supporting pilot programs, and leveraging data-driven insights to inform design decisions. A strong interest in AI-driven experiences, technical curiosity, and the ability to work in a highly international environment are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • UX Vision & Strategy: Define and communicate a clear UX vision and strategy for the Hub team, ensuring alignment with business goals and user needs.
  • Design Leadership: Drive the end-to-end design process for Hub products, from research and ideation to prototyping and implementation. Own the end-to-end experience across products for Hub, ensuring consistency, coherence, and quality of UX patterns, interaction models, and visual language.
  • Design System Governance: Collaborate with the design system team and work in close collaboration with front-end leads and architects to maintain and evolve design standards across the platform, ensuring technical feasibility and alignment with front-end architecture.
  • Team Leadership & Coaching: Lead, mentor, and grow other designers in the Hub team.
  • Research & Testing: Drive the research strategy and lead UX research activity, including usability testing and pilot programs, ensuring data-driven design decisions.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work at the intersection of product, design, and engineering, partnering with PMs and developers to embed UX in the product lifecycle.
  • Operational Excellence: Contribute to design ops, roadmap prioritization, and process improvements for efficient delivery. Establish UX quality metrics (e.g., task success, time-to-value, adoption, NPS/CSAT) and continuously improve experiences based on quantitative and qualitative data.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in UX/Product Design, including lead-level roles.
  • Proven track record of shipping digital products, improving them, and working through multiple product lifecycles.
  • Strong expertise in Lean UX, Agile, and design systems.
  • Solid understanding of Product Management principles and ability to influence roadmap decisions.
  • Proficiency in Figma and modern design tools; familiarity with research and testing platforms (e.g., Dovetail, Maze).
  • Experience with ClickUp, JIRA and Confluence.
  • Strong interest in AI-driven design and ability to work in a tech-forward environment.
  • Experience in SaaS or construction industry is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in international teams (India, South Africa, Europe).
  • Travel required to visit customers and team.
  • Fluent in German and English (Both on Level C2, min. C1).

Company Culture & Benefits

Motivated by our values and vision, we are driving the digital transformation of our customers – for a more digital, efficient, and sustainable engineering and construction industry. "Building Better Together" is more than just a slogan for us; alongside our customers, you are the priority. To enable you to fully develop your passion for your tasks, we support you with:

  • A structured start: individual onboarding, organized networking.
  • Goodies such as: Employee benefits (e.g., corporate benefits), bonuses (e.g., for wedding, birth, anniversary), Schneider Electric share participation, employee events (team events, summer parties, ...), depending on location: table football/table tennis table/dogs tolerated, health management (e.g., discounts at the gym, company doctor, ...).
  • A modern working time model: trust-based working hours, flexible working hours, possibility of hybrid working.
  • Career development/prospects: team or role-based development/training, individual development/training, national and international career prospects within the RIB Group or Schneider Electric.
  • Your room for creativity: proactive sharing of your ideas/approaches/process optimizations within the team, operational idea management, active participation in meetings at team and management level (“RIB Town Halls”).
  • Ways in which you can be sustainable (depending on location & function): digital infrastructure, company bikes, travel allowance, e-car as company car.

RIB promotes equal opportunities for women and men in all functions and fields of activity. Regardless of whether they are female executives, employees with disabilities, career starters, or experienced professionals – commitment and the right qualifications count for us. The RIB Code of Conduct describes our most important principles in terms of nationality, ethnic origin, religion, etc.

Buildings and constructions are responsible for 36% of global energy consumption and almost 40% of energy-related CO2 emissions. To make the industry more efficient, robust, and sustainable, we develop software solutions that can save resources, raw materials, and energy throughout the entire lifecycle of a building. We see digitalization as a driver for a sustainable construction industry. "Building Better Together" stands for the interaction of the two globally leading process and energy technologies: RIB Group and Schneider Electric.
