Job Description
RESPEC is seeking an Early Career Underground Storage Engineer in our Rapid City, SD, location. You will support a diverse portfolio of energy development and operational projects in the midstream and downstream energy sectors. Working with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, geologists, and business professionals, you will contribute to both surface and subsurface infrastructure projects using your expertise in hydraulic analysis, permitting, compliance, deep geotechnical assessment, 3D modeling, and system design.
- Perform engineering analyses including geological characterization and hydraulic modeling.
- Develop and review 3D models, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for integrated engineering solutions.
- Support project planning, design, and execution phases.
- Communicate technical findings through detailed reports and presentations.
Qualifications
Required: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, civil, petroleum, geological, or chemical engineering; 0-5 years of relevant experience; strong foundation in engineering principles; proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Python, Latex); excellent communication skills; fluent in English; ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
Preferred: Master’s degree in a related field; 2–6 years of related experience; prior experience in oil and gas or broader energy industry; Registered Engineer-in-Training.
