Portfolio Accountant at Rendall & Rittner

Are you an experienced accountant looking for an exciting new challenge in a dynamic industry? Look no further – Rendall & Rittner, an award-winning leader in residential leasehold property management, is looking for a talented Portfolio Accountant to join their growing team.

This role is a 12-month Fixed Term Contract (FTC).

Location & Working Hours

This position is home-based, managing a London Portfolio, with occasional attendance required at the London office. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:30.

Key Responsibilities of a Portfolio Accountant

  • Maintain the accuracy and integrity of accounting records for designated portfolios, preferably within the property sector.
  • Manage and mentor staff, providing support to senior management.
  • Utilize good knowledge of accounting systems (Propman software desirable) and advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Prepare year-end accounts, re-allocation of costs, and conduct all-round experience in forming, reviewing, and preparing variances.
  • Oversee the audit process and liaise effectively with external auditors.
  • Prepare profit and loss and balance reports, along with other associated reports for auditors.
  • Monitor cash flow and manage outstanding creditors.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to understand, interpret, and prepare complex reports and plans (financial reporting, budgeting, work scheduling, workload allocation, performance planning).
  • Manage surplus and deficit charges on lessee accounts and handle service charge demands.
  • Apply strong property management experience and adept knowledge around service charge, working independently in the role.
  • Exhibit an analytical mind with excellent attention to detail.
  • Possess experience working with statutory accounts filed at Companies House and Inland Revenue.
