About the Opportunity
The Technical Writer, B2B SaaS is responsible for simplifying the use and integration of the organization’s products by creating clear, high-quality documentation for developers and users. This role supports developer efficiency and user success by delivering accurate, consistent, and engaging content, particularly around APIs and platform features. Reporting to the Lead Product Manager of Platform Experience, this position influences how technical content drives adoption and ease of use.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to produce documentation for new features, API updates, and integrations
- Develop long-term content strategies to organize and improve discoverability for developers
- Maintain content accuracy and clarity through regular reviews and adherence to documentation standards
- Work with customer support and other stakeholders to ensure content meets user needs
- Establish and promote writing best practices for consistent internal and external documentation
- Identify and implement improvements in existing content and documentation workflows
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of technical writing experience, especially in B2B SaaS environments
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise documentation
- Expertise in API documentation and understanding of software development processes
- Proficiency with Markdown, Git, JIRA, and experience in "docs-as-code" workflows
- Familiarity with version control systems and CI/CD pipelines
- Comfortable collaborating with developers, engineers, and product managers
- Experience writing about backend languages such as Ruby, Go, Python, PHP, Node, or Java; knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus
- Experience with documentation generation tools, automation, and AI tools for documentation maintenance
- Understanding of user experience principles, content design, and accessibility in technical writing
- Experience managing large-scale information architecture projects
- Ability to quickly learn and document new technologies and software products
Pay Range and Compensation Package
Salary range for this position is $89,865 to $155,767, with individual pay determined by location, skills, experience, and education. Eligibility for a variable pay opportunity.
