About the Opportunity
The Technical Project Manager leads and delivers strategic projects within the Project Management Office that advance the organization’s mission in higher education and professional upskilling. This role oversees diverse initiatives, including AI implementations and software development, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with organizational goals. The position acts as a key link between technical teams and business stakeholders, providing clear insights to senior leadership and driving continuous improvement in project delivery.
Responsibilities
- Manage full project lifecycle from planning to delivery.
- Lead multiple concurrent projects in a matrixed PMO environment.
- Apply Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid methodologies.
- Bridge communication between technical and business teams.
- Provide concise project reports and risk assessments to leadership.
- Identify and mitigate project risks and resource constraints.
- Oversee AI integration, software development, and process improvement projects.
- Use project management tools, preferably Smartsheet, to track progress.
- Foster collaboration and continuous improvement across teams.
- Align projects with organizational goals and workflow modernization.
- Perform other assigned duties.
Requirements
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required.
- At least 5 years of project management experience within a PMO.
- Experience working in a matrixed organizational structure.
- Background in higher education, professional IT certification training, or IT skilling/upskilling.
- Proven success with AI implementations, software development, and business process projects.
- Expert knowledge of Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid project management frameworks.
- Proficient in project management software; strong preference for Smartsheet.
Pay Range and Compensation Package
Salary range: $90,000 to $110,000 annually.
