About the Opportunity

The organization is seeking a Technical Project Manager to oversee projects involving the design, development, and maintenance of scalable cloud-based APIs, automation of cloud deployments, management of CI/CD pipelines, and optimization of cloud infrastructure. This remote position is based out of Suitland, Maryland and requires a Public Trust suitability determination.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, initiate, and manage IT projects, guiding technical staff and serving as liaison between business and technical teams
  • Lead and manage full lifecycle of engineering projects from scoping to implementation
  • Provide leadership in migrating legacy applications to cloud platforms in a FedRAMP environment
  • Oversee contractor-assigned projects ensuring adherence to scope, timeline, and quality standards
  • Define operating approach and ensure implementation aligns with strategy
  • Provide technical information and cloud solution recommendations to top management
  • Manage budget for equipment and manpower acquisition
  • Collaborate with technical teams to implement CI/CD tools, automated testing, cloud, microservices, and container-based environments
  • Review status reports and adjust schedules or plans as needed
  • Prepare project reports for management, clients, or others
  • Coordinate project activities with other entities including direct interface with customers
  • Track and report project progress and metrics ensuring alignment with contract deliverables
  • Lead project execution using Agile/Scrum and PMP-aligned practices including sprint planning, backlog prioritization, milestone tracking, and delivery forecasting
  • Manage project governance, schedules, risks, dependencies, and stakeholder communications aligning with contractual requirements and organizational objectives

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university
  • Eight years of federal government experience
  • Three years managing development teams
  • Eight years of project management experience, including developing project plans, coordinating projects, communicating changes and progress, completing projects on time and budget, and managing project team activities
  • Public Trust suitability determination

Compensation

Salary range $178,000 to $198,000
