About the Opportunity
The Tax Staff Accountant role supports the tax department by assisting in the accurate preparation and filing of federal and state tax forms and workpapers. Responsibilities
- Coordinate with external firms on quarterly income tax provisions and federal/state tax returns.
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of consolidated federal, state, and local income tax returns and related filings.
- Prepare and file tax returns and workpapers for sales/use tax, property tax, and other statutory filings.
- Prepare month-end journal entries related to various tax filings.
- Prepare weekly tax payment forecasts.
- Assist with IRS and state tax audits by preparing responses and schedules.
- Resolve notices from tax authorities.
- Support special tax projects.
- Conduct tax research and prepare internal memorandums.
- Verify general ledger tax accounts and coordinate journal entries with accounting.
- Collaborate with internal departments to gather tax-related information.
- Maintain tax trackers and organize documentation.
Requirements
- Detail oriented with strong note-taking skills.

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and logical formulas.

- 0–2 years experience in tax or accounting, preferably with public accounting exposure.
- CPA license or progress toward certification preferred.
- Experience in public accounting or corporate tax preferred.
Pay Range and Compensation Package
The pay range and compensation package for this role will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, skills, and other relevant factors.
