The Staff Software Engineer, Fullstack (Groups Shopping Team) will serve as the senior technical leader responsible for enhancing the group travel hotel discovery and selection experience. This role focuses on advancing property ranking systems, scaling group booking capabilities to handle significant growth, and integrating AI directly into the product to assist organizers. The position drives technical quality and architecture, ensuring high-impact delivery of features that improve user experience and operational scalability.Responsibilities
- Lead architecture and development of hotel discovery, scoring, and selection features for group travel.
- Maintain high technical standards through code and design reviews.
- Integrate AI tools into workflows and product surfaces, including prompt and skill design.
- Oversee backend infrastructure on AWS, including services, queues, data pipelines, ECS, and Lambda.
- Mentor engineers, facilitate design discussions, and serve as the technical contact for the Groups Shopping team.
Requirements
- Experience with TypeScript and Node.js in production at scale.
- Regular use and understanding of agentic AI coding tools and their application.
- Deep knowledge of AWS services and continuous integration/deployment processes.
- Strong cross-functional communication skills, capable of addressing technical and leadership audiences.
- Proven ability to lead and guide a technical team informally as a senior engineer.

Pay Range and Compensation Package
