About the Opportunity

The organization is building a retail learning and development team to create the future retail skilling strategy, impacting retention, recruitment, productivity, employee experience, and the employee value proposition. This Specialist Training & Development role focuses on growing a career in Learning and Development by designing and delivering digital training assets for modern retail learners, supporting change management, and refreshing existing training content to improve employee experience.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with project sponsors and stakeholders to develop learning solutions addressing business needs, conducting necessary research.
  • Collaborate with instructional designers, subject matter experts, and team members to develop training content.
  • Work with learning professionals to leverage current technology and anticipate industry trends and best practices.
  • Develop and implement design documentation for learning projects using adult learning modalities such as e-learning, blended, instructor-led training, and performance support materials.
  • Project manage assigned learning projects.
  • Support creation and maintenance of retail upskilling programs.
  • Support organizational change management training for capability advancements (e.g., THRIVE and Image Recognition).
  • Create, publish, test, troubleshoot, and maintain e-learning and simulations, including advanced actions and quizzing for web delivery.
  • Produce and maintain training support materials such as workbooks, job aids, quick reference guides, and online help using department tools, templates, and standards.
  • Lead scheduling of learners into courses and learning programs.
  • Develop and deploy after-learning assessments; track responses and report data.
  • Serve as communication support between learners, product owners, and facilitators, including managing retail bulletins.
  • Coordinate and act as technical producer for virtual, in-person, and hybrid classroom facilitation.
  • Monitor vendor scope of work and deliverables for proper accounting and reconciliation.
  • Work with vendors to evaluate and implement external learning programs according to organizational standards.
  • Coordinate production, translation, and deployment of training materials.
  • Track and monitor cohort attendees in multi-month learning programs.
  • Maintain and administer items in the learning management system (LMS).
  • Maintain skills and delivery with various learning development software.
  • Support LMS content maintenance, including course assignments and completions.
  • Create learning programs and online course evaluations.
  • Create assignment profiles.
  • Update retail SharePoint sites and other retail-specific channels.
  • Create direct links to learning assets in the LMS.
  • Upload e-learning content.
  • Troubleshoot LMS issues and test solutions.
  • Generate LMS reports.
  • Create and maintain an external learning repository for non-employee affiliates and collaborate with IT to deliver courses securely without compromising LMS security.

Requirements

  • Ability to use technology to create compelling and communicative graphics and content.
  • Project management and time management skills to handle multiple projects and client interactions concurrently.
  • Experience engaging with project sponsors/stakeholders to develop learning solutions supported by research.
  • Proficiency in instructional design documentation for adult learners using e-learning, blended, instructor-led training, and performance support materials.
  • Skill in creating, publishing, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining e-learning and simulations with advanced features.
  • Experience producing and maintaining training support materials using established tools, templates, and standards.
  • Ability to work with vendors to assess and implement external learning programs per organizational standards.
  • Experience coordinating production, translation, and deployment of training materials.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong problem articulation and proactive research skills for issue resolution.
