The Software Engineer role involves full-stack development of an enterprise care management platform used in a regulated healthcare setting. The position is responsible for maintaining and enhancing clinical workflows, backend services, and external system integrations while ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards. This role is critical in transitioning the platform to fully owned infrastructure with AI-first architecture, directly impacting clinical stability and platform modernization.Responsibilities
- Maintain and extend core platform features including patient charts, clinical dashboards, and billing systems
- Develop clinician and manager dashboards to present actionable clinical data
- Support automated clinical assessment delivery via secure messaging
- Integrate with Electronic Health Records using HL7 FHIR and SFTP
- Enhance asynchronous messaging, billing file generation, and retry mechanisms
- Manage communication pipelines such as Twilio short code messaging
- Implement and maintain nurse license validation and care access restrictions
- Ensure HIPAA-compliant data handling and integration with third-party services
- Utilize AI-assisted development tools daily to accelerate feature delivery and testing
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of full-stack software engineering experience with shipped production code
- Proficiency in React and TypeScript for frontend development
- Proficiency in Node.js, Python, or similar for backend development
- Experience with asynchronous job queuing and event-driven architectures
- Working knowledge of HIPAA regulatory requirements in software development
- Daily use of AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code or GitHub Copilot
- Strong written communication skills for documentation and issue escalation
- Preferred: Experience with EHR integration standards and regulated industry exposure
Pay Range and Compensation Package
- Base salary range: $115,000 – $140,000 annually
- Eligible for an annual performance-based bonus based on company and individual results
