The Software Engineer, Lifecycle plays a crucial role in developing and maintaining scalable backend services that support the organization's unified communications platform. This position contributes to personalized and timely engagement with millions of customers through multiple channels, including SMS, email, and push notifications. The role involves collaborating with marketing, analytics, and data teams to transform complex data into actionable marketing solutions and leads medium-sized projects to enhance platform capabilities and reliability.Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable backend services for unified communications across various channels.
- Develop real-time, event-triggered messaging and marketing automation systems.
- Translate complex datasets into marketing capabilities using APIs, streaming pipelines, and reverse ETL workflows.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliver data-driven solutions.
- Independently lead medium-sized projects from design through launch, managing risks and ambiguity.
- Improve system reliability and accelerate iteration while communicating technical trade-offs clearly.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field, plus 3 years of experience.
- Experience building and operating microservices and APIs in cloud environments, preferably AWS.
- Proficiency in at least one backend language such as Kotlin, Java, Ruby, or Python.
- Ability to independently execute projects, navigate ambiguity, and collaborate with cross-functional partners.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for distributed team environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting Marketing, Growth, or GTM teams, especially with CDPs, customer segmentation, or campaign orchestration.
- Familiarity with reverse ETL tools, data pipeline tooling, or marketing automation platforms.
- Knowledge of real-time event streaming systems and high-throughput messaging architectures.
- Experience with third-party API integration and handling large data volumes.
- Proven leadership in medium-to-large projects and contributions to long-term platform design.
