The Software Engineer III (Kora/Support) role is a full-stack position responsible for developing and scaling a voice AI agent that assists patients with medical billing inquiries. This role involves building data integrations, engineering large language model prompts, configuring infrastructure, and delivering features that directly impact patient interactions. The position contributes to expanding the AI agent's reach across multiple communication channels and supports the continuous refinement of AI-driven workflows and patient experiences.Responsibilities
- Experiment with and launch Generative AI-powered features in collaboration with AI scientists
- Integrate large language models (LLMs) into production workflows, including context building, prompt design, and evaluation pipelines
- Develop infrastructure to expose insurance, billing, and third-party data to the AI agent for real-time patient conversations
- Review call transcripts and conversation logs to identify product performance insights and implement improvements
- Support the transition from an inbound voice agent to a multi-modal platform including outbound calls, chat, and SMS
- Contribute to team management, technical project oversight, and mentoring of peer engineers
- Innovate new approaches for agent-based engineering and rapid prototyping within a non-traditional codebase environment
Requirements
- 4 to 6 years of technical leadership with measurable impact across full-stack development (preferred but not required)
- Experience with Generative AI and Large Language Models, through personal or professional use or API integration
- Ability to work across engineering domains including data pipelines, third-party integrations, cloud infrastructure (AWS or GCP), and feature development
- Strong hands-on coding and problem-solving skills, with attention to edge cases and efficiency under time constraints
- Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
- Commitment to engineering best practices including clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
- Entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable in fast-paced and ambiguous environments
- Proficiency in modern languages and frameworks, primarily Python and TypeScript; React experience is beneficial
- Experience designing for non-deterministic systems where outputs may vary between runs
- Passion for improving healthcare transparency and fairness for patients
Pay Range and Compensation Package
Salary Range: $170,000 to $215,000 (subject to location, experience, and education) Equity eligibility Competitive benefits and wellness packageBenefits & Perks
