About the Opportunity
The Software Engineer-Senior will serve as a technical expert and lead engineer within the GraphQL API team. This role is responsible for researching, designing, and developing advanced GraphQL API platforms, acting as a liaison between digital consumer teams and domain API teams. It requires strong communication and leadership to prioritize multiple initiatives and provide technical solutions to various teams, thereby directly impacting the quality and scalability of the organization's digital services.
Responsibilities
- Lead research, analysis, design, and development of emerging GraphQL API platforms.
- Collaborate with digital consumer teams (web, mobile) and domain API teams to address technical challenges.
- Prioritize and manage multiple initiatives across different teams.
- Train and mentor team members and peers.
- Guide projects from inception to successful delivery.
- Provide financial input for budgets and resource estimates.
- Identify and implement service delivery process enhancements.
- Ensure completeness of requirements and adherence to development and business case processes.
- Coordinate with IT and vendor relations teams.
- Consult on routine and complex systems development.
- Monitor service levels and provide early warnings on potential issues.
- Coordinate deployment and production support activities with delivery and infrastructure teams.
- Follow IT governance standards and processes, balancing business and operational risks.
- Validate and monitor service provider project plans, schedules, deliverables, and outcomes.
- Facilitate timely resolution of service delivery problems.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience with large scale API projects.
- 5+ years of technical delivery ownership in JavaScript projects.
- Strong JavaScript and TypeScript development skills.
- Experience with modern front-end or back-end web technologies and frameworks.
- Extensive experience with GraphQL; proficiency in GraphQL with Java implementation is acceptable.
- Proven technical leadership and ability to lead technical resources.
- Strong understanding of data structures and software design patterns.
- Experience with ServiceNow or a comparable support ticketing system.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and passionate about learning.
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS Solutions Architect or Developer certification.
- Experience with RUST or other emerging web technologies.
- Communication and business/product management experience.
