About the Opportunity

The Senior Engineering Manager, Infrastructure Systems will lead the design, delivery, and operation of cloud environments, service infrastructure, build/deploy, and ecosystem services. This role at RemoteHunter involves hiring, mentoring, and empowering a high-performing engineering team to ensure scalable and reliable infrastructure that accelerates development organization-wide, providing a cloud ecosystem that enables automatic and economical creation of new services and environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design, delivery, and operation of cloud environments and service infrastructure.
  • Oversee build, deploy, and ecosystem services.
  • Hire, mentor, and empower a high-performing team of engineers.
  • Drive technical excellence and ensure scalable, reliable infrastructure.
  • Support accelerated development across the organization.

Requirements

  • 8+ years as software engineer, infrastructure engineer, or DevOps engineer.
  • At least 3 years managing software development or infrastructure teams.
  • Proven ability to hire, coach, and develop engineers with performance management.
  • Experience leading agile software development processes from inception to delivery.
  • Skilled in defining and maintaining technical roadmaps balancing short-term and long-term goals.
  • Proficient with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform; familiar with CloudFormation, Chef, Puppet, Ansible, or Pulumi.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of logging, monitoring, metrics, and alerting systems.
  • Understanding of configuration management, service discovery, and automation tools.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and artifact management.
  • Understanding of cloud networking concepts including VPC/VNet, peering, hybrid connectivity, traffic management, load balancing, and CDN integration.
  • Experience with cost optimization, tagging, reporting, and managing reservations or savings plans.
  • Familiarity with security systems, data governance, and compliance frameworks is a plus.
  • Results-driven leadership with strong communication, stakeholder management, and team coaching skills.

Compensation and Benefits

RemoteHunter offers a competitive base pay range from $184,000 to $255,000 USD, with total compensation potentially including equity and/or variable pay (OTE) based on experience, expertise, and location. The role includes competitive benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity opportunities. RemoteHunter supports a hybrid-hub work model, providing necessary resources for success in various work settings.
