Senior Director, Data

About the Opportunity:

This Senior Director, Data role at RemoteHunter focuses on making homeownership more valuable and accessible by helping homeowners access their wealth and achieve financial flexibility. You will lead the analytics, data engineering, and data science teams, leveraging data to drive critical business decisions and achieve measurable impact. The position involves managing a modern data platform and significantly enhancing analytical rigor and experimentation, reporting directly to the Chief Growth Officer.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the vision, strategy, and execution of the entire data function, encompassing analytics, data engineering, and data science.
• Operate and evolve a cutting-edge modern data stack including Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, Fivetran, Estuary, Sigma, Hightouch, and PostHog.
• Take ownership of company-wide metric definitions, experimentation standards, and analytics prioritization to ensure data integrity and strategic alignment.
• Spearhead and contribute actively to the analytics function, ensuring data insights and experimental findings directly influence business decisions.
• Build scalable infrastructure and robust workflows for data science to significantly enhance modeling, in-depth analysis, and experimentation capabilities.
• Recruit, develop, and mentor a high-performing data team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

Requirements:

• Possess 12+ years of experience in data-focused roles, with substantial senior leadership experience in analytics, analytics engineering, data engineering, or data science.
• Proven track record of success in building and leading impactful data teams within high-growth technology companies, ideally within fintech or similar sectors.
• Demonstrate deep expertise in metrics, experimentation design, and decision-oriented analytics, having owned and implemented analytical frameworks that shaped strategic direction.
• Strong technical and systems knowledge, enabling effective evaluation of data architectures, tooling selections, and various data science approaches.
• Exceptional ability to translate complex and ambiguous business problems into clear, actionable analytical approaches and tangible outcomes.
• Exhibit a hands-on leadership style when necessary, coupled with effective delegation skills to empower and optimize team performance.
• Be a clear and compelling communicator, a trusted leader who upholds high standards, and genuinely invests in the professional growth and development of their team members.
