About the Opportunity

As a Risk & Fraud Analyst II at RemoteHunter, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding the payments and financial services segment for appointment-based, self-care businesses, including salons, spas, medspas, and barbershops. This position involves identifying and investigating risk and fraud patterns across a dynamic payments ecosystem, contributing to the evolution of risk programs through insights gained from investigations, and continuously improving controls, tools, and customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Action day-to-day alerts and queues related to fraud prevention, investigations, and dispute processing.
  • Monitor and analyze information from various tools, reports, and documentation to make informed decisions.
  • Assess risk levels and make approval recommendations for onboarding and payment processing limits.
  • Build trust with customers and internal teams through customer experience and fraud education.
  • Provide feedback on current risk programs and assist with implementing improvements.
  • Stay informed of fraud trends and relevant regulations to maintain risk programs.
  • Assist in developing fraud detection and risk management systems and suggest enhancements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 3-7 years of payments industry experience, focusing on underwriting, transaction monitoring, fraud, dispute, and risk management (higher experience expected for Analyst II).
  • Experience with SQL, Tableau, or Sigma.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or Google Workspace, especially Excel or Sheets.
  • Familiarity with merchant processing platforms and applications.
  • Experience using automation and/or AI tools in the workplace.
  • Ability to read and understand credit card processing statements.
  • Knowledge of card brand rules and regulations (Visa, Mastercard, etc.).
  • Strong analytical, research, and attention to detail skills.
  • Ability to research complex merchant issues and communicate findings clearly.

Compensation

Starting total cash compensation for the Risk & Fraud Analyst II role is between 90,000 and 130,000 USD, depending on skills, experience, and market factors. The position offers significant room for growth and advancement within the organization.
