About the Opportunity: Research Associate, Customer Insights
The Research Associate, Customer Insights supports social and behavioral science projects focused on energy utility clients. This role contributes by conducting qualitative and quantitative research to generate actionable insights that improve customer engagement and program outcomes. The position involves collaboration across behavioral science experts, marketing, IT, analytics, and program implementation teams to apply research findings effectively. It is key to advancing the organization’s offerings in customer insights and behavioral science.
Responsibilities
- Conduct background research and benchmarking for project needs
- Manage recruitment of research participants
- Assist in designing interview guides and surveys
- Conduct interviews and field online surveys
- Produce data summaries and basic reports
- Manage project timelines and monitor budgets
- Collaborate with team members and cross-functional groups
- Support team operations and project management efficiency
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in social or behavioral sciences or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in customer insights research (qualitative and quantitative) or similar projects
- Minimum 3 years of experience managing projects, budgets, timelines, and administration associated with research projects
- Experience with survey research platforms such as Alchemer or Qualtrics and data analysis software like SPSS or R
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel)
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in social or behavioral sciences
- Experience with energy utilities or environmental domains
- Advanced skills in organization, flexibility, financial and time management, stakeholder collaboration, project planning, and problem-solving
- Knowledge of behavioral science methods related to energy efficiency, clean energy, and demand response
- Experience in data visualization and strong presentation skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, including in remote settings
- Strong communication skills
Pay Range and Compensation Package
The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is $67,355.00 - $114,503.00
