About the Opportunity: Remote Engineering Manager - Software Development
The Remote Engineering Manager - Software Development leads a team of engineers responsible for designing, building, and delivering web and mobile applications. This role bridges technical design and practical implementation to ensure project efficiency and quality. The position facilitates collaboration across distributed teams and directly contributes to developing modern productivity solutions that improve user workflows and experiences.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team building well-architected web and mobile applications
- Guide the team through research, design, implementation, and delivery phases
- Influence technical direction in cross-functional teams
- Develop code samples and prototypes to support implementations
- Promote modern technical standards and best practices
- Encourage quality code and effective communication within the team
- Communicate project status with remote and local partners
- Provide performance feedback and development support to team members
- Hire and train new engineering talent
- Collaborate with designers and business leaders to improve user experiences
- Engage with customers to refine workflows and solve challenges
Requirements
- 5+ years of web application development experience
- 3+ years managing technical teams
- BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frameworks (Vue, React)
- Experience with backend services using Java, Python, or Node
- Familiarity with AI tools for code quality improvement
- Proven ability to design and develop scalable applications
- Knowledge of web development best practices
- Experience with scalable content management systems (preferred)
- Familiarity with testing frameworks and static code analysis tools
- Experience managing AWS deployments and services
- Strong communication skills and team collaboration ability
- Passion for building innovative productivity solutions
- Experience with agile software development methodologies
