About the Opportunity

The Program Assistant supports Environmental Equity and Student Ambassador programs focused on promoting awareness of clean mobility incentive programs and zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) career pathways across California communities. This role acts as a liaison between Student Ambassadors and program leadership, ensuring smooth operations and meaningful participant experiences while advancing environmental justice and climate equity goals.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as first-level point of contact for Student Ambassadors, responding to questions about program requirements, community engagement strategies, and stipend payment processes.
  • Assist with coordination of Student Ambassador networking events, professional development opportunities, and connections to ZEV career pathways.
  • Provide administrative support for program meetings, stakeholder communications, and special events as directed by program leadership.

Requirements

  • Minimum of one year of experience in program coordination, student services, community organizing, or related fields, including internships, fellowships, or volunteer activities with diverse student populations.
  • Associate's degree from a California Community College or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies, Public Policy, Social Work, Communications, or related field preferred.
  • California Driver's License preferred.
  • Interest or knowledge in zero-emission vehicles, clean transportation, or environmental policy a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, database management, social media platforms, and virtual collaboration tools including Zoom, Teams, Google Docs, Google Sheets, and SharePoint.

Compensation

  • Budgeted hourly pay range: $22.00 to $25.49.
  • Final salary and rates based on education, experience, relevant skills, and internal equity.
