The NOC Engineer role involves monitoring network infrastructure, responding to incidents, and resolving outages to ensure continuous service availability. This position contributes to maintaining client network stability and supports customer satisfaction through effective communication and problem resolution. The role is integral to the Cloud and Managed Service team and works closely with project teams to support organizational objectives.Responsibilities
Incident Response & Technical Support
- Restoration & Recovery: Respond promptly to network incidents and restore service efficiently to minimize downtime.
- Omnichannel Support: Provide direct technical support to customers via phone and email, maintaining a professional demeanor at all times.
- Network Administration: Perform standard moves, adds, and changes (MAC) within the Cisco collaboration environment.
- Continuous Improvement: Recommend targeted improvements to infrastructure stability and advocate for enhanced customer experiences.
Documentation & Communication
- Ticketing & Records: Document all restoration steps clearly within the ticketing system and provide regular status updates to customers on open issues.
- Knowledge Management: Create comprehensive troubleshooting guides following established documentation standards.
- Client Advocacy: Develop a deep understanding of customer business challenges to better align technical support with their operational needs.
Professional Development & Performance
- Training: Complete required training modules and maintain active industry certifications.
- Goal Alignment: Meet or exceed individual performance goals while aligning daily activities with overall company objectives.
Requirements
Networking & Infrastructure Expertise
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Network Engineer or working within a Network Operations Center (NOC).
- Routing & Switching: Strong knowledge of Cisco, Cisco Meraki, HP, Aruba, and Juniper technologies.
- Network Fundamentals: Extensive knowledge of the OSI model, switching, and internet routing protocols.
- Wireless & Security: Understanding of enterprise wireless technologies and network security using Cisco ASA/Firepower, Cisco ISE, Palo Alto, or Fortinet.
Technical Ecosystems
- Cisco Tooling: Basic familiarity with Cisco applications such as Prime, DNA Center, and Umbrella.
- Collaboration Services: A basic understanding of Cisco Collaboration deployments (CUCM, CUC, IM&P, CER, UCCX) is highly desirable.
- Architectural Logic: Ability to identify service architecture issues and collaborate with senior engineering teams on long-term solutions.
