About the Opportunity
The Master Security Architect role is responsible for ensuring that products and services meet US Government security requirements and comply with relevant security standards. This position contributes by evaluating security postures, performing gap analyses, supporting authorization processes, and guiding security design improvements. The role impacts the organization by enhancing product and service security, facilitating compliance with government frameworks, and collaborating across teams to maintain robust security architectures.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineering teams and customers to meet US Government security requirements
- Evaluate security posture and compliance of products and services using standards and tools
- Perform gap analyses and report findings
- Harden product and service offerings
- Assist in achieving and maintaining Authorizations to Operate (ATO) for traditional and FedRAMP solutions
- Draft, review, and maintain security documentation such as System Security Plans, Contingency Plans, and Plans of Action and Milestones
- Provide security guidance and define requirements for internal systems, customer-facing services, and products
- Identify security design gaps and recommend improvements in product and service architectures
- Work with sales, product security, and engineering leaders to align security efforts
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of security architecture or engineering experience with a strong technical foundation in security and compliance
- Advanced technical skills across platforms including Linux, Windows, VMware, and SQL
- Familiarity with industry and government security standards such as DISA STIGs, CIS benchmarks, NIST 800-53, NIST Risk Management Framework, FIPS 140-2/3, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, and NIST 800-171
- Experience with the FedRAMP approval process and securing cloud solutions including AWS, Azure, or GCP
- In-depth knowledge of risk assessments, network security, cryptography, authentication, secure systems development, and authorization
- Strong understanding of application security patterns including web application and mobile security strategies
- Familiarity with federated identity and access management protocols such as SAML, OAuth, and OIDC
- Effective meeting facilitation and presentation skills with the ability to manage differing viewpoints
- Expert understanding of industry trends in information security policy, audit, compliance, and risk management
- Desired certifications include CISSP, CSA, or Security-related credentials
