The Lead SRE/DevOps Engineer role is responsible for owning and advancing the cloud infrastructure, CI/CD platform, and compliance posture. This position involves building the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) function from the ground up to enable product teams to deliver rapidly without sacrificing reliability, security, or cost efficiency.Responsibilities
- Establish the SRE practice including on-call rotation, PagerDuty setup, SLA/SLO definitions, runbook creation, and observability dashboards linking site performance to business metrics.
- Complete migration of production workloads to an isolated AWS multi-account environment with zero unplanned downtime.
- Deliver infrastructure evidence packages ready for SOC 2 Type I audit and manage technical controls end-to-end.
- Version and publish a Terraform module library to a private registry to standardize consumption by product teams.
- Implement automated deployment rollback for ECS and Lambda, gating production deployments on integration test success.
- Provide monthly cost reporting to leadership, including budget anomaly detection and savings recommendations.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of production experience with AWS infrastructure and deep Terraform expertise.
- Proven experience in establishing SRE functions and full ownership of such initiatives.
- Experience working in multi-site companies utilizing PaaS or microservices architectures.
- Prior ownership of CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with PagerDuty and managing on-call rotations.
- Hands-on familiarity with SRE tooling such as OpenTelemetry and Grafana.
Pay Range and Compensation Package
- Base salary ranges from $160,000 to $190,000 per year, paid semi-monthly.
