The Lead Engineer, DevOps & SRE is responsible for owning and evolving the organization's cloud infrastructure, CI/CD platform, and compliance posture. This role involves building the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) function from the ground up to enable product teams to deliver faster without sacrificing reliability, security, or cost control. The position plays a critical role in establishing operational excellence and technical controls for scalable infrastructure.Responsibilities
- Establish the SRE practice including on-call rotation, PagerDuty setup, SLA/SLO definitions, runbook library, and observability dashboards.
- Complete AWS multi-account migration with zero unplanned downtime.
- Deliver SOC 2 Type I audit-ready infrastructure evidence and manage technical controls implementation.
- Version and publish a private Terraform module library to standardize infrastructure provisioning.
- Implement automated deployment rollback mechanisms for ECS and Lambda based on integration tests.
- Develop monthly cost reporting for leadership including anomaly detection and budget recommendations.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of production AWS infrastructure experience with deep Terraform expertise.
- Proven experience building and owning the SRE function.
- Experience in multi-site environments requiring PaaS or microservices.
- Previous ownership of CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with PagerDuty and on-call rotation implementation.
- Hands-on experience with SRE tooling such as OpenTelemetry and Grafana.
Pay Range and Compensation Package
- Base salary range of $160,000 to $190,000 per year, paid semi-monthly.
- Compensation includes base salary, profit-sharing bonus, and competitive benefits.
