About the Opportunity

The organization offers a telecom-as-a-service platform that enables brands and enterprises to own and operate proprietary mobile networks tailored to their customers' needs. The platform combines multiple existing networks into a single cloud-managed system, providing extensive business intelligence and insights into customer and machine behavior. The Human Resource Director will lead people operations for a global, remote-first workforce, focusing on US HR expertise and international team exposure. This role requires hands-on execution and strategic development of people practices as the organization scales.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary HR leader for the global workforce, owning end-to-end HR operations.
  • Manage day-to-day HR activities including employee relations, performance management support, policy enforcement, manager coaching, and HR systems administration.
  • Partner with managers across regions to provide compliant and business-aligned HR guidance in a remote-first environment.
  • Coordinate global people operations across Canada, France, and Mexico, working with local advisors, PEOs, or Employer of Record partners for jurisdiction-specific compliance.
  • Translate people strategy into scalable execution, leading or supporting initiatives that enhance consistency, manager effectiveness, and organizational performance.

Requirements

  • 8 to 12+ years of progressive HR experience with deep expertise in US multi-state employment practices.
  • Experience supporting international or multi-country workforces and collaborating with local compliance and external advisors.
  • Proven ability to operate independently as a lead HR owner with full accountability for outcomes.
  • Strong proficiency with HR systems and tools including HRIS, payroll, benefits platforms, and performance management tools.
  • Experience building practical, scalable HR infrastructure for startups or growth-stage organizations, emphasizing usability and impact.
  • Excellent judgment, executive presence, pragmatism, and ability to build trust in a distributed organization.
