About the Opportunity
The Field Deployment Engineer serves as the critical link between the engineering team and end users in the field. This role ensures the successful deployment and operation of the organization's autonomous system interface technology under real-world conditions. It is essential for maintaining system reliability in high-pressure environments and directly influences product refinement by relaying operational feedback.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end deployment of the interface technology onto unmanned systems and hardware platforms
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software integration issues in real-time
- Travel frequently (up to 50%) to client sites and test ranges to support deployments
- Collaborate with operators to gather field insights and translate them into product requirements
- Train and support users to ensure effective command of unmanned system fleets using natural language
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years in software engineering, systems integration, or related field engineering roles
- Proficiency in Python and C++, with experience in containerization technologies such as Docker
- Strong skills in Linux systems, networking, and hardware debugging
- Excellent communication skills capable of engaging both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and represent the organization onsite
- Willingness to travel frequently
- Current U.S. work authorization; visa sponsorship is not available
- Security clearance (Secret or TS/SCI) preferred but not required
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
Pay Range and Compensation Package
- Target base salary range of $120,000 to $200,000 annually, based on experience
