The Engineering Manager, Marketing Technology - Segmentation Platform & Insights Platform leads two critical platform teams responsible for customer segmentation and marketing analytics. The role is pivotal in setting technical direction and executing roadmaps that enhance personalized marketing efforts through AI-driven systems. This position influences the scalability and reliability of platforms that power marketing personalization and insights, directly supporting the organization's growth by advancing AI-native engineering practices.Responsibilities
- Lead weekly planning, roadmap reviews, and cross-team synchronization for Segmentation and Insights Platforms
- Conduct one-on-one meetings focused on engineers' career growth and skill development
- Act as primary engineering point of contact for cross-team dependencies and prioritize requests
- Collaborate with Product Manager to sequence and manage the roadmap
- Develop technical strategy for AI/ML anomaly detection and trend analysis systems
- Oversee design, delivery, and operational health of autonomous agentic production systems
- Promote AI-native development practices across teams
- Manage team health through on-call programs, incident reviews, service level objectives, and runbook quality
- Represent platforms in organizational planning and contribute to Marketing Technology engineering strategy
Requirements
- Minimum 9 years of software engineering experience with at least 4 years in engineering management of platform or infrastructure teams
- Proven experience managing engineers at various seniority levels with demonstrated career growth outcomes
- Strong background in distributed data systems, backend infrastructure, or marketing/ad technology platforms
- Experience managing cross-team platform relationships and prioritizing requests
- Successful delivery of complex, multi-quarter technical roadmaps in dynamic environments
- Expertise in data-driven engineering practices including data pipelines, analytics infrastructure, and operational excellence
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with audience segmentation, targeting systems, or marketing data infrastructure at scale
- Familiarity with ML/AI analytics systems or managing applied ML engineering teams
- Hands-on knowledge of agent frameworks and orchestration tools
