1. About Our Client:

The organization operates within the defense logistics sector, supporting data management and standardization efforts critical to defense operations. It addresses challenges related to data element evaluation, business rule application, and the implementation of data standards to enhance operational efficiency and data integrity within the Department of the Navy (DoN).


2. About the Opportunity:

The Data Analyst\ role is responsible for providing technical expertise in evaluating data elements, codes, and business rules, ensuring clarity and accuracy in data definitions as they relate to business processes. This position supports the development and implementation of data strategies and policies that meet the organization’s information needs, contributing to standardized and effective data management within defense logistics.


3. Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support in evaluating data elements, codes, business rules, and data standards.

• Evaluate proposed data elements, codes, and their attributes.

• Ensure proposed data definitions are clear, concise, technically correct, and accurately represented in business processes.

• Collect business and data requirements and perform data analysis.

• Develop data strategy and associated policies and procedures.

• Implement capabilities to meet business information needs.

• Communicate accurate information effectively.


4. Requirements:

• Ten years of relevant experience, including extensive review and coordination of policies, vocabularies, and data elements used throughout the Department of the Navy.

• Experience with standards and technologies such as Accredited Standards Committee (ASC) X12, Business Enterprise Architecture, data dictionaries, data warehousing, enterprise application integration, metadata registry, Master Data Management (MDM), relational databases, Semantics, data retention, SQL, Procedural SQL, XML (including schema definitions and transformations).

• Extensive experience representing Department of the Navy interests in the ASC X12 data standards management process.

• Possession of IT-II Non-Critical Sensitive or Tier 3 security clearance.


5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:

• Salary range: $95,000 to $140,000.
