Certified Medical Assistant

About the Opportunity

This remote Certified Medical Assistant role supports patients by managing prescription refill requests and providing administrative and clinical assistance. The position involves interacting with patients, providers, pharmacies, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and efficient medication refill processing.

Responsibilities

• Receive and respond to prescription refill requests via phone, email, fax, and telephone encounters.
• Verify validity and accuracy of refill requests, ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Prepare and dispense prescription refills following organizational protocols.
• Provide clear, comprehensive customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
• Compile and analyze data to track prescription refill performance metrics and identify trends.
• Adhere to schedules and quality metrics to maintain productivity and efficiency.
• Support clinical staff and managers with special projects, studies, and reports related to medication refill programs.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize workflow and enhance patient care outcomes.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Certification as a Medical Assistant by the American Association of Medical Assistants or as a Registered Medical Assistant by the American Medical Technologists.
• Minimum 1 year of Medical Assistant experience in a clinical or medical office setting.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and medications.
• Proficient computer skills, including data entry, screen navigation, and keyboarding.
• Experience with Electronic Medical Record or Electronic Health Record systems.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook and Word.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to follow daily schedules and assigned duties.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated caring and compassion.
• Reliable internet connection (Satellite and 5G connections are not acceptable).

Compensation

$17.00 per hour
